A dagger of royalty...shattered...destroyed..lost to time and history. Overtaken by vines and buried deep within the earth. Excavated...unearthed and reborn of gold.

This piece has a blade just under 8”, with an overall length of just under 14". Made with fine mosaic damascus. The fittings are made from hot blued mild steel that has been mirror polished. It features 24k gold overlay to emulate the ancient Japanese pottery technique, kintsugi. The handle is carved African Blackwood that has been carved in a winding vine and leaf motif. The gemstone in the center of the handle is phosphosiderite. The stone had natural veins of a softer stone embedded within that was carefully carved out to retain the natural edges. They were filled with 24k gold dust and resin dye to give the appearance of the stone being broken and then fused back together with the kintsugi technique.
